I told U, iPhone is a TOY

For the past couple of months, literally a year now, I have been hearing people chanting iPhone almost like a baby crying uninterrupted!  

Lot of my own friends, have been willing to shell out whatever it takes it get their hands on to iPhone (i am talking about the 2G Version.. then) have been pleading anyone and everyone visiting U.S. or were ready make to a trip to the grey market and unlock the phone later to prove that they have the so called million dollar baby.

Some of them did manage to get it but the irony is it could never replace the traditional smartphones or PDAs from their pockets! They always used to lug around two devices, one for calling, smsing, emailing, picture taking, music and everything else that one can think of doing on a mobile phone. 

.. and the other one, that is the iPhone, they used to proudly take out from their pocket and keep it on the table… as if it’s a showpiece, something exploratory. Ask them how often they used their iPhones.. most of them didn’t know the last time they used it. 

The irony is even after having tremondous amounts of sources of information available on the Internet today, we keep our eyes and ears closed to facts that are real and like to live with the hype like everyone else. 

It’s a shame that the “MOST HYPED PHONE EVER” has not lived up to its expectations. 

The most unbelievable fact is that in spite several consumer complaints and lags, Apple has been able to come up with a shockingly high price…

Now… it’s upto you to decide what you want to call this baby.. a boy’s toy? or a simply a “TOY”? 

… and for a toy that neither serves the purpose of a toy or a phone, think again before you shell out that penny from your pocket!

Believe me it hurts!

I have always been inspired by innovations in technology and Apple has been one brand whose products have always inspired me.

But this time it’s the iPhone which has turned the tables upside down. 

If you are wondering what I am talking about, then listen to this. 

It can’t forward SMS and it cannot be copy pasted even

No external memory 

Bluetooth can be used only for handsfree calling

Only 2 MP camera from a high end phone!!! No flash, auto focus, optical zoom and video recording facilities

Options to sync contacts from your phone to the SIM Card and select multiple contacts are unavailable

Bad network quality – 3G connection issues, hasn’t worked even after firmware update 

Dropped calls, poor reception

After lots of complaints about iPhone 3G connection issues, Apple released a firmware update Monday with hopes it would fix the issues. But early reports suggest it didn’t work as planned.

And to top it all, this million dollar baby costs a bomb. Why should one shell out 31-36 K for a phone that doesn’t do half the things!

I am sorry, I don’t think iPhone has lived upto its hype.
